Natural Rustic Wedding Flowers At Kingscote Barn The Cotswolds

Vix and Malc were married last November in the gorgeous Kingscote Barn. If you are looking for a barn style venue be sure to check out Kingscote Barn, it is nestled amongst The Cotswold hills surrounded by beautiful countryside.

We first met Vix when she was working with Rock My Wedding at The National Wedding show. Her rustic styling ideas and peacock inspiration sounded just like the sort of wedding we wanted to be a part of.

Which flowers did we use to create a natural look?

After our initial consultation together we decided that a rustic mix of natural looking flowers would be used throughout the day with highlights of colour being influenced from the colours of peacock feathers. We used a mix of green hydrangeas, amni, eucalyptus pods, bitter balls, purple veronica, blue hydrangeas, thistles, astrantia and anemones.

Many photos below have been taken by Passion for Flowers though a few are by the amazing Christian Ward

Rustic bridal bouquet tied with twine

For her bridal bouquet we created a loose hand tied bouquet of green hydrangeas, amni, veronica, bitter balls and eucalyptus pods, the spiky elements create texture in the bouquet adding to the rustic look so it was in keeping with the surrounding countryside. Her bouquet was wrapped with twine. Feast your eyes on the photos below, doesn’t she look stunning.

Blue bridesmaids bouquets

The bridesmaids were wearing cobalt blue full length dresses, to complement these their bouquets we made from a blue hydrangeas base with veronica, eucalyptus pods, bitter balls and veronica, again tied with twine.

Vix’s dad made the wooden slices which were used to display the bouquets on, each one was engraved with their names so the bridesmaids could take them home as a gift.

Button Holes

We created a mix of different button holes for the boys to choose from, each one was slightly different, we kept to a natural look tied with twine.

The ceremony took place in the barn, down the sides of the barn are large windows which look out over the beautiful countryside, we filled the large window sills with a mix of bottles which they had collected themselves, again using blues, greens and natural rustic flowers. Vix and Malc added signs and hearts to the window sills and large round balloons lining the aisle.

The ceremony table had two cream lanterns filled with flowers and in the alcoves on the walls we added flowers to jugs and watering cans.

Vix and Malc also had giant letters M & V set up at the front of the barn from Vowed and Amazed

On the tables Vix’s dad had made more of the wooden tree slices, these were set in the centre of each table with a mix of bottles and jars filled with seasonal blooms.

There were some lovely details around the venue. Photo bunting was strung up against the walls, a photo book wedding guest book was laid out on a table, blackboard signs showing personalised cocktails available from the bar and the table plan was also done on a large blackboard.

Simple Flower Archway at Country Church ~ Wedding Flowers

If you’re having your wedding ceremony at a country church welcome your guests with a relaxed country style flower arch. This country church had a metal arch which we decorated with this flower garland. The flower arch was a simple mix of eucalyptus, white hydrangeas and snippets of white gypsophilia. The archway will be in all the photos as you leave the church yard, making a lovely frame for the bride and groom.

Flower Girl Pomander

For her gorgeous flower girl Millie we made a pomander from white gypsophilia with lace to hang. Pomanders are often easier for young flower girls to hold rather than posies and can look pretty hanging from their chair back when they want to put them down.

We made a mix of different button holes, all were spring flowers in either yellow or white or both the stems were finished off with twine, lace or yellow gingham ribbon. Having a mix of button holes is a nice idea for a relaxed informal wedding, they can then choose the button hole they like the best. We used a mix of white ranunculus, yellow ranunculus, white tulips, yellow billy balls (craspedia), daisies and gypsophilia. Brown luggage tags are a great way to display the names of who is having a button hole, it stops any confusion the morning of the wedding.

Tea Party Wedding Flowers Fazeley Studios Birmingham

Sarah and Richard were married at Fazeley Studios in Birmingham back in October. They wanted to create an eclectic tea party style wedding with a purple colour scheme using just picked style flowers. We were on hand to help, Fazeley Studios acts as a blank canvas for wedding styling so it is perfect if you are looking for a venue you can put your own stamp on.

Ceremony Wedding Flowers Fazeley Studios

For the wedding ceremony we kept the decoration on the table simple, using a mix of glass bottles and jam jars finished off with hessian and lace, these were filled with a mix of purple wild flowers. These purple ‘just picked’ flowers included astrantia, limonium, gypsophilia and alliums.

For the tables we continued the tea party theme, creating a table centre from a mix of jugs, tea pots and cake stands all decorated with purple wild flowers. Sarah and her guests had been collecting these china cake stands, tea pots and tea cups for us to use, they also hired a couple of extras from us. The tables looked great set with the vintage china, even the wine was served from a tea pot!

Flower Crowns & Flower Circlets ~ Wedding Hair Flowers

Depending on the style of your wedding you may be looking for some form of hair flowers. Hair flowers are really on trend at the moment and here at Passion for Flowers we are getting asked more and more for these, especially as Summer gets closer.

There are lots of different ways you could have flowers in your hair, a single large rose on a wire, small dainty flowers scattered throughout, a headband or a flower crown / flower circlet.

Follow our wedding hair flowers Pinterest board for more hair ideas.

Flower crowns or flower circlets look stunning on small flower girls, adult bridesmaids and even on brides depending on how you are wearing you hair. Below you can see two of our recent flower crowns, modelled here by one of our team members Emily.

White gypsophila flower crowns are dainty and delicate, ideal for younger bridesmaids as they are very light weight. They create a soft dreamy look.

Packington Moor Wedding Flowers ~ Vintage Glamour Wedding

Gemma and Michael were married back in October at the lovely Packington Moor Farm, they were hoping to create a vintage theme for their wedding with a hint of glamour in the gorgeous barn setting. At our consultation we came up with an overall style and look for the day using soft pink toned roses (Sweet Avalanche) a mix of seasonal white flowers and highlights of astilbe and lisianthus for texture. When mixed with our mercury silver glassware and cut crystal glassware it created a stunning vintage glamour look for Gemma and Michael.

Sweet Avalanche Roses For The Brides Bouquet

The young bridesmaids had a smaller version of the bridal bouquet.

For the ceremony we used two of our 5′ tall silver candelabra either side of the ceremony table, these has a similar mix of flowers as were used in the bouquets. On the ceremony table itself was one of our mercury silver hurricane vases with a pillar candle inside, these also ran down either side of the aisle. The chairs in the ceremony had lovely chair decorations of soft pink and gold ribbon with a heart pendant.

On the guest tables in the reception Gemma had found some old gold picture frames which she had filled with pretty paper, this acted as the base for the floral grouping. Each table had a glass bottle and vintage cut glass vase with pink and white blooms as well as mercury silver tea light holders. These are all available to hire from Passion for Flowers or if you would rather buy them they are available at The Wedding of my Dreams. rustic glamour wedding flowers table centre piece vintage glamour wedding flowers sweet avalanche roses wedding centrepiece on gold tray wedding flowers centrepiece glass grouping on gold tray Gemma and Michael had put a disposable camera on each guest table. To make this more fun and get the photos they wanted they created a game of eye spy for the guests to play with their camera. We love this idea, as you can see their list included photos such as a group shot of the table, bride and groom holding hands, cutest couple (not the bride and groom), groom playing with his ring, bride looking at the groom in the distance… passion for flowers thank you flowers wedding disposable camera ideas If you’re getting married at Packington Moor and looking to be inspired by your florist we would love to work with you to create your wedding flowers.  What did we make?

We were featured in the pink section and chose to create a mix of arrangements with soft pink / peach tones running throughout, we used lovely spring blossom, broom and amni for a light airy feel.

On the left you can see our footed bowl filled with an arrangement of Juliet, Kiera and Sweet Avalanche rose as well as ranunculus, tulips, broom, grass, amni and blossom. Finished off with our mini domes (available to buy from The Wedding of my Dreams).

For the bouquet we made a hand tied bouquet of the same mix of flowers as above, tied with vintage lace and a heart pendant. The napkin is a sprig of pink broom tied with ballet pink satin ribbon. Our button hole completes the look, we used a Kiera rose, soft pink ranunculus and broom.

Pink Gypsophila Flower Girl Hair Bands

Are you having young flower girls or bridesmaids at your wedding? These hair bands are perfect for young girls, they are easy for them to wear and light weight. We have used snippets of pink gypsophila on this flower girl hair band but we could have used white gypsophila.

It is always nice to let young flower girls have a handbag full of petals for them to sprinkle down the aisle as they walk down.
