Colourful Country Garden Wedding Flowers ~ Peonies, Hydrangeas, Hessian & Twine

Isobel and Ed were married in May this year, the ceremony was held at Princethorpe College and then on to Park Farm in Upper Shuckburgh for the reception. The couple were after a country garden rustic inspired wedding with pretty flowers, hessian, twine, fruit crates and straw bales.

At our consultation we highlighted a number of flowers which we would use throughout the day, these included peonies, hydrangeas in cream, pink and blue, avalanche and sweet avalanche roses, wax flower, gyposphila with eucalyptus. The choice of flowers offered a great mix of soft rounded shapes and texture for contrast to create the country garden rustic look they were after.

Isobel’s bridal bouquet was a handtied mix of country garden flowers, she had beautiful pink peonies, white peonies, blush pink roses with highlights of wax flower, gypsophila and astilbe. We used an off cut of lace from her dress to wrap the handle of the bouquet so it tied in with her dress perfectly, pinned onto the bouquet handle was a stunning brooch that belonged to her Granny.

The bridesmaids wore colourful dresses, all six bridesmaids had a different coloured dress which worked well for this relaxed style of wedding. For each bridesmaid we created a bouquet which complimented her dress. The bouquets were all made from a mix of hydrangeas and roses with extra foliage and flowers for textures, we used different colours of hydrangeas and roses for each of the girls. The bouquet handles were all wrapped with hessian and raffia to create a relaxed country feel.

At Park Farm there was a lovely set up of tipis, hay bales covered in cosy blankets and the main marquee to welcome guests. We focused our floral decorations in the main marquee.

The marquee was filled with colourful country bunting strung from the roof with paper pom poms and lanterns hanging down at various points, this created a real wow factor was guests walked into the marquee for the first time. On the tables we laid out our hessian runners and squares of hessian over the linen cloths to create more interest. country garden wedding flowers in marquee bunting hessian table runners The top table had a central arrangement which sat in front of the bride and groom, running along the length of the table were a mix of bottles filled with flowers of the day. The bride and her bridesmaids wanted to get involved with decorating so did these bottles themselves as well as hanging up hearts around the marquee and other finishing touches.

The guest tables had a country rustic cream jug placed on a hessian square, we used a mix of hydrangeas, wax flower, peonies, roses, gyp and eucalyptus in these which smelt divine. We tied raffia around the jugs which the table number was pegged onto. Isobel had collected candles and tea lights to scatter around the tables.

We made Isobel and Ed’s wedding table plan from white washed wooden crates which we hung small silver buckets from and filled with peonies, roses and wax flower. Each bucket represented a different table and had a list of the guests names tied to the front of it.

Hampton Manor Weddings | Pink & Blue Country Garden Flowers

Hampton Manor Weddings ~ Country Garden Flowers

Esther and Dave were married at Hampton Manor, Solihull in April this year. They were after a spring country garden look for their wedding flowers using pink, cream, purple and blue tones. Throughout the wedding flowers and arrangements we used a similar mix of flowers to keep the style continuing through from her bridal bouquet, to button holes and table centre pieces. The mix of flowers we used were beautiful pink peonies, avalanche roses, dried lavender, veronica in white and purple as well as thistles for texture.

Here at Passion for Flowers we often work at Hampton Manor, with weddings in the Mawson Room and Peels restaurant. If you want to see more of our Hampton Manor weddings search ‘Hampton Manor’ in the top right.

Blue & Pink Country Garden Bridal Bouquet

The bridal bouquet was a gorgeous hand tied bouquet using the mix of flowers mentioned above, the pink peonies looked and smelt divine. We used spiky veronica  and thistles to create the texture.

Button Holes

The button holes were a mix of pink peony buds, grey brunia, dried lavender, white veronica and a thistle tied with ivory satin ribbon. These looked perfect against the navy suits. For the ladies we made a mix of corsages and handbag corsages from large sweet avalanche roses and thistles.

Hampton Manor Wedding Flowers ~ Mawson Room

The reception took place in the Mawson Room, our 1m high silver candelabra look elegant in this room, the ceilings are high so if you are having tall centrepieces they need to be grand and fill up the space.
Every table had a candelabra centrepiece with a mix of sweet avalanche roses, avalanche roses, veronica, thistles and eucalyptus.
Esther and Dave had thought of lovely details, their wedding table plan was displayed in various picture frames, the menu cards were printed on brown kraft paper to keep in with the country garden look and wedding favours were mini jars of sweets with gingham material for the lids and a luggage tag showing the guests name.

Natural Rustic Wedding Flowers At Kingscote Barn The Cotswolds

Vix and Malc were married last November in the gorgeous Kingscote Barn. If you are looking for a barn style venue be sure to check out Kingscote Barn, it is nestled amongst The Cotswold hills surrounded by beautiful countryside.

We first met Vix when she was working with Rock My Wedding at The National Wedding show. Her rustic styling ideas and peacock inspiration sounded just like the sort of wedding we wanted to be a part of.

Which flowers did we use to create a natural look?

After our initial consultation together we decided that a rustic mix of natural looking flowers would be used throughout the day with highlights of colour being influenced from the colours of peacock feathers. We used a mix of green hydrangeas, amni, eucalyptus pods, bitter balls, purple veronica, blue hydrangeas, thistles, astrantia and anemones.

Many photos below have been taken by Passion for Flowers though a few are by the amazing Christian Ward

Rustic bridal bouquet tied with twine

For her bridal bouquet we created a loose hand tied bouquet of green hydrangeas, amni, veronica, bitter balls and eucalyptus pods, the spiky elements create texture in the bouquet adding to the rustic look so it was in keeping with the surrounding countryside. Her bouquet was wrapped with twine. Feast your eyes on the photos below, doesn’t she look stunning.

Blue bridesmaids bouquets

The bridesmaids were wearing cobalt blue full length dresses, to complement these their bouquets we made from a blue hydrangeas base with veronica, eucalyptus pods, bitter balls and veronica, again tied with twine.

Vix’s dad made the wooden slices which were used to display the bouquets on, each one was engraved with their names so the bridesmaids could take them home as a gift.

Button Holes

We created a mix of different button holes for the boys to choose from, each one was slightly different, we kept to a natural look tied with twine.

The ceremony took place in the barn, down the sides of the barn are large windows which look out over the beautiful countryside, we filled the large window sills with a mix of bottles which they had collected themselves, again using blues, greens and natural rustic flowers. Vix and Malc added signs and hearts to the window sills and large round balloons lining the aisle.

The ceremony table had two cream lanterns filled with flowers and in the alcoves on the walls we added flowers to jugs and watering cans.

Vix and Malc also had giant letters M & V set up at the front of the barn from Vowed and Amazed

There were some lovely details around the venue. Photo bunting was strung up against the walls, a photo book wedding guest book was laid out on a table, blackboard signs showing personalised cocktails available from the bar and the table plan was also done on a large blackboard.
