Passion for Flowers featured on Love My Dress Spring Yellow Bridal Bouquet

For Jenny’s bridal bouquet we kept to a just picked, loose style hand tied bouquet to reflect the rustic style of Packington Moor Farm. Her bouquet was a mix of yellow and white spring flowers including honeymoon tulips, daisies, yellow tulips, yellow ranunculus, white ranunculus as well as black and white anemones. The bouquet was finished off with a lace wrap.

Flower Girl Pomander

For her gorgeous flower girl Millie we made a pomander from white gypsophilia with lace to hang. Pomanders are often easier for young flower girls to hold rather than posies and can look pretty hanging from their chair back when they want to put them down.

We made a mix of different button holes, all were spring flowers in either yellow or white or both the stems were finished off with twine, lace or yellow gingham ribbon. Having a mix of button holes is a nice idea for a relaxed informal wedding, they can then choose the button hole they like the best. We used a mix of white ranunculus, yellow ranunculus, white tulips, yellow billy balls (craspedia), daisies and gypsophilia. Brown luggage tags are a great way to display the names of who is having a button hole, it stops any confusion the morning of the wedding.

Flower Crowns & Flower Circlets ~ Wedding Hair Flowers

Depending on the style of your wedding you may be looking for some form of hair flowers. Hair flowers are really on trend at the moment and here at Passion for Flowers we are getting asked more and more for these, especially as Summer gets closer.

There are lots of different ways you could have flowers in your hair, a single large rose on a wire, small dainty flowers scattered throughout, a headband or a flower crown / flower circlet.

Follow our wedding hair flowers Pinterest board for more hair ideas.

Flower crowns or flower circlets look stunning on small flower girls, adult bridesmaids and even on brides depending on how you are wearing you hair. Below you can see two of our recent flower crowns, modelled here by one of our team members Emily.

White gypsophila flower crowns are dainty and delicate, ideal for younger bridesmaids as they are very light weight. They create a soft dreamy look.

 What did we make?

We were featured in the pink section and chose to create a mix of arrangements with soft pink / peach tones running throughout, we used lovely spring blossom, broom and amni for a light airy feel.

On the left you can see our footed bowl filled with an arrangement of Juliet, Kiera and Sweet Avalanche rose as well as ranunculus, tulips, broom, grass, amni and blossom. Finished off with our mini domes (available to buy from The Wedding of my Dreams).

For the bouquet we made a hand tied bouquet of the same mix of flowers as above, tied with vintage lace and a heart pendant. The napkin is a sprig of pink broom tied with ballet pink satin ribbon. Our button hole completes the look, we used a Kiera rose, soft pink ranunculus and broom.

Pink Gypsophila Flower Girl Hair Bands

Are you having young flower girls or bridesmaids at your wedding? These hair bands are perfect for young girls, they are easy for them to wear and light weight. We have used snippets of pink gypsophila on this flower girl hair band but we could have used white gypsophila.

It is always nice to let young flower girls have a handbag full of petals for them to sprinkle down the aisle as they walk down.

Rock My Wedding Pop Up Shop ~ Passion for Flowers

Today we were at Hampton Manor exhibiting at the Rock My Wedding Pop Up Shop. Here at Passion for Flowers we work closely with Rock My Wedding and provided florals for their Rock My Boutique shoot last year. For the pop up shop we created a similar look to the shoot with white and green flowers in tin cans. We used a mix of amni, ranunculus, tulips, brunia and astrantia.

Mythe Barn Wedding Flowers ~ Menu Tasting Event

A couple of weeks ago we were invited by Mythe Barn to decorate their wedding venue for the menu tasting evening. Mythe Barn is a lovely barn wedding venue based near Birmingham. Leicester and Coventry.

We decorated the Oak Barn as a ceremony room and The Grain Store as we would a wedding breakfast. This gave couples a chance to see the venue decorated up for a wedding.

Here at Passion for Flowers we regularly provide wedding flowers for Mythe Barn couples, we choose to create a different table centre on each table to give us a chance to show what could be done with the venue.

For the ceremony room we kept it simple yet in keeping with the rustic barn setting. With a run of hurricane vases either side of the aisle, within the hurricane vases were pillar candles placed in a bed of moss. On the ceremony table we created a display of white hydrangeas and white lisianthus on a bed of moss with the hurricane vase in the centre. Mythe Barn have a set of bay trees and the beams are covered in hops – a new addition to the venue.

For the guest tables we created a variety of centrepieces that would appeal to different wedding styles and themes we used a similar mix of flowers throughout to keep the overall look to soft muted pinks and whites .

Our tables included a grouping of crystal glassware on a mirrored cake stand with quicksand roses.

Buttonholes ~ What Are My Choices?

Having met with many brides and grooms to discuss their wedding flowers we have found that predominately it’s the brides, bridesmaids and their mums who get most excited about choosing which flowers are going to feature in their day.

This being said grooms often come along to the meetings and we love it when they have an input and actively encourage them to get involved in the meetings, more and more grooms are getting involved in the choice of flowers and how the whole day will be styled.

The buttonholes are one of the areas where your groom can really get involved. But what are your choices for buttonholes? Well, the tradition is that the groom would wear a flower that has been picked from the bridal bouquet, so whatever he chooses should reflect the flowers in your bouquet.

Rose Buttonholes

A single rose in your choice of colours, cream roses being a popular choice with a touch of greenery which would be the foliage used throughout your day, or for a lighter look we often use gypsophila.

Ivory Rose Buttonhole With Soft Ruscus

Here we have shown an ivory rose with ruscus and another ivory rose with rosemary. To add texture to rose button holes we use berries or beads depending on your overall style or for a more blousy button hole we can use a double rose with snippets of hydrangeas and gyposophila, shown below using Amnesia roses. These could be created with the same variety of roses you are having throughout the rest of your wedding.

Seasonal Buttonholes

If roses aren’t your style and you are not having them throughout your day we would suggest an alternative flower depending on the season of your wedding. This could be anything that would be sturdy enough to use as a buttonhole and would usually be a flower that we have chosen to use elsewhere on the day.

Depending on the style of your wedding we can finish off the stems of the buttons holes to suit, we can keep to a traditional green stem or cover with hessian / twine for a rustic look or ribbon in the colour of your choice.

Wrist Corsages

For Mother’s of the bride and groom a simple button hole in a neutral colour is a lovely choice. However if their outfit doesn’t suit a button hole but they would still like flowers we often suggest a handbag corsage or wrist corsage. Below is an example of a wrist corsage which can be made with flowers to tie in with your day or the colour of an outfit.

The final question is who should you get button holes and corsages for. We suggest starting with the bridal party, Groom, Best Man, Ushers, Dads. Corsages for Mums. It’s often a lovely gesture to add button holes or corsages for any grandparents or anyone doing a reading. You may have a few extras you wish to include brothers, bridesmaids partners etc. It is completely up to you who you offer button holes to.

Pale Pink Nude Roses ~ An Elegant Wedding At Hampton Manor

Wedding Flowers At Hampton Manor

Hampton Manor in Solihull is one of our regular venues, being only 10 minutes from where we are based we work there many times each year. Although we work there a lot, most of our weddings are completely different to one another and we love working with our brides and grooms to style their flowers just for them.

Elizabeth and Trevor loved the palest pink, almost nude colour roses for their wedding flowers. To tie in to the venue they went for an elegant but simple style for their wedding flowers. All the tables had a silver candelabra with a mix of nude toned roses in the arrangement.

The large mirrors at either end of the Mawson Room reflect the candelabra and candle light beautifully, each table had mocha rose petals scattered over it and napkins and menus were tied with dusky pink toned ribbon.

They chose a simple elegant cake on a silver cake stand which we decorated with nude roses and rose petals. candelabra wedding flowers ceremony hampton manor nude roses hampton manor wedding flowers
