Wedding Flowers: Lilac and Cream Summer Wedding Flowers at Mallory Court

At Passion for Flowers we love working with brides who have a clear idea of the colours they love.Claire was no exception and was inspired by wedding flowers in lilac, cream and purples to create a gorgeous summer look. Her groom Richard and the male members of the bridal party wore kilts so we added a hint of heather and used thistles for the button holes. We loved creating her summer bouquet of lilac and cream wedding flowers captured by Rob and Sarah Gillespie.

lilac and cream bridal bouquet

The bridal bouquet was a delicate mix of summer blooms in creams and lilacs to create a delicate summer mixed bridal bouquet perfect with Claire’s gorgeous chiffon Sassi Holford dress.

bridesmaids bouquet purples and lilac The bridesmaids bouquets had deeper tones of purple and lilac to contrast with their bridesmaids dresses. The mix of flowers was all part of the palette of soft lilac and purple colours we had agreed for the wedding day.

The corsages were a delicate mix of lisianthus and freesia continuing the lilac and purple wedding colours.lilac and purple corsage The wedding reception was at one of our favourite Warwickshire venues, Mallory Court. The room looked stunning with tall silver candelabra with wonderful wedding flowers in  creams and lilacs. At Passion for Flowers we love the soft backdrop for a romantic wedding.wedding candelabra lilac and creamAn elegant top table arrangement with glass hurricane vases and church candles was created with a soft garland wrapped in voile. The wedding flowers were lilac and cream roses, gypsophilia and lisianthus. For brides wanting a stunning effect place a candelabra at  either end of the top table. {Weekly Wedding Flower Inspiration} Bridal Bouquets with Lace Wraps, Brooches and Something Old

At Passion for Flowers we love making our bridal bouquets a little bit different. Creative touches are a great way to add a personal touch to your bridal bouquets.

bridal bouquet with diamante brooches

This beautiful summer mixed bouquet of blue hydrangeas and vintage roses looked gorgeous with a diamante brooch to fasten. The brooch was chosen by our bride to tie in with her Flo and Percy hairpiece.

Pearls continue to be on trend with our Passion for Flowers brides. They wear pearl jewellery and have pearl details in their dresses. Here we have added pearl pins and a delicate pearl brooch to finish the bridal bouquet wrap.
bridal bouquet with diamante heart details

{Floral Design: Passion for Flowers}

This bride made her own stationery using a heart theme. She used these delicate hearts on her wedding invitations and menus.  At Passion for Flowers we like to work with our brides and so we incorporated one of the small heart details onto the satin ribbon on her bridal bouquet. This ensured her bridal bouquet wrap continued her wedding theme.

If you are not the sort of bride wanting fussy details we can still personalise your bouquet wrap. Just choose the ribbon to match the colour of the bridesmaids dresses. Here our bride had purple dresses for her spring wedding so a purple voile wrap finished with pearl pins looked perfect.bridal bouquet with blue lace wrap

{Floral Design: Passion for Flowers}

To add a highlight of the colour as well as lace details we can use coloured ribbon with a touch of lace overlay. This lace was saved from an off cut of our brides wedding dress. Great up-cycling - at Passion for Flowers we encourage our brides to use any remnants of their dress to add a personal touch to their bouquets.

This gorgeous lace bridal bouquet wrap was used for a delicate spring bouquet of peonies. The bridal lace wrap reflected the simplicity of the peony blooms.bridal bouquet with lace wrap

For a vintage bouquet add vintage lace, check your grandma’s drawers for that something old – perhaps even a piece from her wedding dress or even her veil.bridal bouquet with dusky pink laced ribbon wrap

{Floral Design: Passion for Flowers}

The vintage colour of the roses inspired this wrap of dusky pink ribbon delicately laced to add that finishing touch. You can see the lacing work reflected in our mirrored cake stand.  All our work at Passion for Flowers is carried out with style and attention to detail.bridal bouquet with wedding date on wrap

To add a really personal touch to your bouquet add a hand embroidered wrap. Here our bride visited a London embroiderer for her personalised wrap. The date of her wedding is a great reminder of her wedding day and something to treasure.bridal bouquet with hessian and twine wrap

{Floral Design: Passion for Flowers}

For a rustic or outdoor ceremony you could incorprate a wrap of hessian and twine. In this bouquet the rustic bouquet wrap perfectly reflects the rustic styling of the hand tied bouquet. Hydrangeas, astrantia and vintage roses in dusky pink tones look great with the hessian.bridal bouquet with something old{Source: Rock Paper Sweet}

We love this inspiration adding something old to your bridal bouquet. This bride chose photos that are special to her. As our brides carry their bouquet with them for most of their wedding day this is a great way to keep those loved ones close to your heart on your special day.

Which bouquet wrap would you choose, we’d love to hear your comments.

Passion for Flowers talks Succulents on Love My Dress

At Passion for Flowers we were thrilled to be asked by Annabel at Love My Dress to share our ideas and inspiration for brides wanting to use succulents at their weddings. Pop to her blog today to see the full post.

Don’t you just love her inspiration board below on succulents.succulents wedding flower inspiration

Succulents  are great for weddings :

  • succulents can be bought well in advance of the wedding day
  •  as potted plants succulents can be kept as a reminder of a special day
  • a great green option
  •  succulents are a great price

We shared ideas for DIY brides wanting to make their own centrepieces. Use succulents with other flowers to create an eye catching and easy to make wedding centrepiece. Blackboard buckets are available to buy from our sister company the wedding of my dreams. This centrepiece would look gorgeous at a seaside wedding, perhaps adding some shells to the arrangement. Don’t forget to chalk on the table name or number. Great for easy DIY centrepieces.

Pretty rustic bark centrepiece looks great with a semperviren (type of succulent)! These could be hung from trees or set around your wedding reception venue.

Bark vases or lanterns are available to buy from our sister company the wedding of my dreams. Add pretty rustic bark tea light holders to finish off your rustic wedding centrepieces.

To end at Passion for Flowers we just had to share this image captured by the Barbers of a summer vintage tea party with tall candelabra with blue hydrangeas, herbs and a mix of vintage roses. The tones picked up by bunting by the bride’s family and soft pashminas on the chairs.  What a great alternative to chair covers!

Hope we have inspired you with our hydrangeas

Wedding Shoot in a Corn Field

Earlier this summer we were contacted by Cat and Adrian from Billingham Photography, we have worked with Cat and Adrian before on wedding shoots and absolutely love their work so we were excited to be involved in their latest concept.

This shoot in a corn field was actually the day after a shoot they had organised at Broadway Tower (will share the photos from that shoot another day). The sun decided to show itself and the Billingham’s took the opportunity to capture the natural beauty of a near by corn field. The setting was stunning, the fields had been freshly cut leaving hay bales scattered throughout them.

We love the results. What do you think?bride in hay field shoottallulah's trinkets head band in corn field shootcornfield shoot pastel wedding flowersdelicate pink purple flowers in bottlescornfield shoot sweet peas wedding flowerscornfield wedding shootWe kept the flowers simple for this wedding shoot and supplied a range of Lisianthus in pastel pinks and lilacs as well as some beautifully delicate Sweet Peas. A couple of the props were supplied by The Wedding of my Dreams ~ French Perfume Bottles were filled with soft Sweet Peas and Delphinium Petal Confetti was blown away by the bride.
