Here at Passion for Flowers we are only minutes down the road from Wroxall Abbey, Warwickshire, as one of their preferred wedding florists we find ourselves working at this gorgeous venue many times a year.

We try to make each wedding different from one another, letting the couple really put their own stamp on the venue to create their own special day. Emma and Tony were planning a relaxed country garden look for their wedding, we used a  mix of rustic wedding flowers to create the look they were going for.

Emma, her two bridesmiads and two flower girls had lovely ‘just picked’ bouquets. For the bouquets we used mainly white summer flowers including scabious, veronica, astrantia, limonium as well as  highlights of lavender. The bouquet wraps were  hessian  tied up with string to keep a rustic / country style feel. Tony and the rest of the bridal party had lavender and rosemary button holes with twine detailing.

At the entrance to Wren’s Cathedral at Wroxall Abbey we had two stacks of wooden crates with lavender creating a beautiful scent as guests entered the chapel. Leading up to the chapel was bunting and lanterns to guide guests along the pathways.

Wren’s Cathedral is quite dark inside so candles on window sills and the fonts brighten it up, as well as large floral archways using white flowers. We used luscious white hydrangeas on the archway to brighten up the wooden screen.

Hanging bottles create fabulous backdrops for photos, these apothecary bottles were hanging from trees outside the chapel, some with flowers others not. We love hanging bottles at weddings, we have used them to create wishing trees previously. Guests each tie a wish for the bride and groom written on a luggage tag to each bottle.

Within the marquee itself we created a mix of similar table centres. As there were 28 tables it was important to Emma and Tony that all tables were not identical but had a connection to one another with the mix of flowers used. We used a mixture of table cloths, floral, lace and hessian, styled with rustic wedding flowers. Jugs, buckets, wooden bark containers, zinc tea lights, crystal glassware and mirrored cake stands to create the overall look and feel of the rustic style.

Extra finishing touches include the rustic sweetie table and a sprig of lavender on each guests place setting as a small favour.
