I am back! This weekend was my first wedding of the year and it felt so good to be back doing what I love. Kate and Chris had a micro wedding with 15 people and it was beautiful. They were married in the village church opposite the family home. I created natural style Church flowers for them, a delicate flower crown and a bouquet to compliment Kate’s stunning dress.
The flowers were left decorating the church as a sign of hope for everyone to see.
“Just wanted to say a massive thank you for the most beautiful wedding flowers! I couldn’t believe how perfect they were for our style and everyone commented on how lovely they all looked.
Thank you again for being a part of our day and I’m so glad we were still able to have you.
We really had the best time, being smaller made it so special and we wouldn’t have changed a thing!”
I love the chance to create new designs at venues I love. Last weekend I attended Ragley Hall wedding Showcase and created 4 different table designs as well as one of my favourite deconstructed arches. This grand elegant venue calls out for wow factor florals. See my designs below.
Deconstructed Arch – framing the grand doors at Ragley Hall
Candelabra Centrepieces – Ragley Hall
I used 2 heights of silver candelabra, 1m candelabra which are my go-to size of candelabra for wedding centrepieces but as the ceilings are so high at Ragley the room can take our 5′ candelabra on the tables for a real wow factor centrepiece.
Wild, Natural Tall Centrepiece
The room benefits from tall centrepieces, for a more wild and natural look I used my gold stand and decorated with flowers, foliage and twigs to the base as well as top.
Low Centrepiece with Candles in Cylinder Vases
For a low centrepiece I loved creating this floral ring around 3 cylinder vases, you could alternate tall and low centrepieces on your tables.
Looking back through the archives and had to share this intimate wedding with you. Every now and then time stops still to celebrate a wonderful marriage of two people so in love. I first met Ellie and Matt when they were down in Birmingham looking at venues for their wedding. They had strong ideas on the feel they hoped to create and took time to find venues and their wedding team.
The Oratory was such a special place for the wedding ceremony and for their initmate gathering of loved ones. In contrast the urban feel of The Church Inn in Birmingham gave us scope to create a great backdrop for their wedding celebrations. They loved the Brooklyn Inspired feel of urban places. Throughout the planning Ellie was happy to let us offer advice and we worked together beautifully to create this amazing moment in time.
We were thrilled to see this wedding featured on Love My Dress .
HAIR FLOWERS
The bridesmaids wore beautiful white dresses individually chosen and we created loose half flower crowns for their hair flowers. Simple, understated but elegant bringing in soft blues, nude, white and stronger purple tones. The hair was styled by our friend Natalie at Bridal Hair Specialists.
WRIST CORSAGES
For a simple but stunning look the girls wore beautifully created wrist corsages keeping to the tones of the day, with astrantia, wax flower and snippets of garden greenery. Ellie looked stunning in her Sarah Willard Couture designed dress.
BRIDAL BOUQUET
Ellie’s bridal bouquet was designed with her dress and personal style in mind. I love brides giving us freedom to work our magic on their flowers and Ellie fell in love with her bridal bouquet. This loose hand tied design included clematis to trail, a mix of roses, astrantia, lilac, tulips, wax flower, amni and helebores with a mix of garden forages for added texture. I just love her gloves to complete her look.
BUTTONHOLES
The button holes were a mix of quicksand roses, wax flower, some with delicate blue snippets of hydrangea. I love this image of Matt with his button hole.
CHURCH DECORATION – CANDLES DOWN THE AISLE
The Oratory is an amazing space and candles down the aisle in all shapes and sizes create the perfect look. It felt like an Italian church with the wonderful architecture and we decided that flowers in church would not do it justice and agreed with Ellie and Matt to go all out for candlelight. The service was so personal and on entering the church the magic and love could be felt.
HAND HELD ARCH
Love this idea for a hand held arch for the couple.
HANGING FLOWERS
For the gathering after the formal part of the day Ellie knew she wanted hanging flowers to create a wow factor over the drinks table and as a backdrop to speeches and photos. An exhuberant mix of trailing foliage, large hydrangea blooms, trailing amaranthus, tulips threaded through the frame and scented wax flowers brought the room to life.
This winter wedding at Hampton Manor was a delight from start to finish. With so many amazing floral features. We have posted part 1 (the bouquets and deconstructed arch at Hampton in Arden church). Now we bring you Rachel and James and their stunning winter reception at Hampton Manor. The Courtyard was transformed by candlelight, flowers and foliage. Guests entered an enchanted winter wonderland for the wedding breakfast and evening celebrations. The room felt warm and full of love as guests and family celebrated together.
Tall Gold Stands & Candles for an Enchanted Winter Wedding at Hampton Manor
Our brief for the Courtyard was elegant, dreamy and candlelit. The Courtyard tables were filled with a mix of white candles running the full length of the tables. Relaxed foliage softened the tables whilst tall gold stands bedecked with foliage and the softest of blooms added richness and elegance to the scene. The deconstructed arch from church was moved and then rebuilt and extended to create the most amazing backdrop to the top table, our team worked tirelessly to transform this into an Enchanted Winter Wedding at Hampton Manor.
Thanks Karen
We cannot believe how the flowers both at the Church and Hampton Manor formed the most beautiful backdrop to the whole day – even in my planning dreams I couldn’t have foreseen how perfectly you and your team would deliver for us!!!
It was a dull dreary damp December day brought to life by all those who took part and supported us on that day. It was truly magical and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!
Big Hugs xx
If you are planning a winter wedding at Hampton Manor we would love to create a wonderful setting for your day.
If you are looking for winter wedding inspiration take a look at this stunning winter wedding. Hampton Manor is the perfect setting for a winter wedding, it doesn’t matter what the weather is doing outside, the house is magical, fires will be lit to keep you cosy and we can really help you to transform The Courtyard into an enchanted winter wonderland (see part 2).
The bride Rachel and her bridesmaids looked absolutely stunning in their blush dresses, we created bouquets with scented roses in blush and nude. The whole look was one of elegance, the colours being soft and tonal. The flowers included Earl Grey roses, quicksand and akito roses.
Deconstructed Arch Hampton in Arden Church
In the family’s words ‘It’s All about the Arch’. So that was our brief and what our amazing team created. This arch brought magic to the church in winter and created the most stunning backdrop for Rachel and James to exchange their vows.
Whilst the service was taking place we were busy putting the finishing touches to the Courtyard to make that magical for the arrival of the wedding party.
I loved the message from our bride Rachel and her kind gift on the wedding morning. As Rachel and James are based overseas her lovely Mum Mandy and I had been working together on this beautiful wedding. Nothing was left to chance for this special couple and their loving family.
Huge Thanks
Thanks for all the planning and plotting with Mum over the last 12 months. I have been looking forward to seeing my bouquet and all the wonderful things you two have been discussing. I have always loved Marianne’s wedding flowers that you create for her and dreamed one day I would have similar. Big thanks and wishing you and your team a lovely Christmas. Rachel
Arches elevate a simple wedding to another level and bring beauty and joy to all wedding celebrations. As one of our recent brides said it is all about the arch. A new and inspirational idea is a floating arch which creates an illusion of magic for your wedding backdrop. If you are looking for magic then this is a great choice for your wedding.
Candles add romance to every wedding so make sure you include them on your wedding list if you are looking for a romantic look which will be captured on all your wedding photos. We love the finishing touches lighting the candles just before our couples see their wedding flowers for the first time. It is such a joyous moment, make sure you ask your planner to let you have a sneak peak of the room together before you enter for the wedding breakfast.
The flowers chosen here are an amazing mix of peach, pink and pops of deeper orange, so if you are looking for some colour for your wedding backdrop this would be great for you. And for each and every wedding we can create just the arch for you in colours and textures you will love. We would love to create a beautiful day for you to remember so please do get in touch.
Looking for the most amazing backdrop for your wedding day. This will be captured in all your wedding photos that you will treasure for so long after the wedding day is over. Hanging chandeliers have great impact. This chandelier is filled with scented flowers and beautiful foliage for a natural look for your wedding which an be suspended over your ceremony or top table to wow you guests.
If you are looking for a romantic look for your wedding day make sure you use candles on the tables.
Nothing creates romance more than candlelight and dreamy flowers at your wedding. If you are looking for a florist for your wedding do get in touch. We would love to be your wedding florist and create a romantic backdrop for you.
At Passion for Flowers we love weddings over the winter period and loved creating flowers for this elegant and timeless wedding at Compton Verney. Katie and Jason enjoyed a church wedding with family and friends.
Compton Verney Wedding – What A Beautiful Backdrop Compton Verney is certainly elegant and timeless and makes a wonderful backdrop to wedding photos. In fact there are so many wonderful places to capture those special moments to treasure. Just take a look at some of these stunning images.
Bouquets & Confetti
Nothing says wedding more than a confetti shot. We love freeze dried natural confetti for its delicate look. Katie and her girls carried bountiful bouquets with eucalyptus foliage and the softest David Austin Kiera and Tess roses, Quicksand and bombastic spray roses with snippets of scented Genista in the softest pink.
The Adams Hall has dramatic windows, ceiling and doors and tall centrepieces continue the drama. Gold floral stands had an overflowing decoration of textured foliage and scented blooms a beautiful contrast to the all white room. No candles are permitted as the venue is a museum and art gallery but to bring some sparkle we added hanging baubles to the stands and delicate LED lights to the low table decorations and vases.
Moongate Backdrop for Top Table at Compton Verney
The moongate created a symbolic circle of love behind the top table to frame the couple.
These images of our first wedding of the year in February bring much needed happiness and show how beautiful a winter wedding can be.
Please get in touch if you are needing to postpone your wedding and we can help you create a beautiful day with warmth and wonder.
We met Beth and Blair at the Hampton Manor Wedding Fayre and Beth fell in love with our natural flowers and romantic table with soft roses and crystal vases with candlelight for an elegant look for her wedding. At our consultations, we discussed their vision for the day and how we could bring that to life. We also added in ideas to include the white thistle as Blair and a number of the party would be wearing kilts. We were thrilled to hear they had booked Fjona to capture their day, it is always lovely to work with her.
THE BOUQUETS
Beth and her maids carried natural bouquets with a soft and natural mix of flowers from her day. The blooms including the blousy Charity rose, Bridesmaid and Quicksand roses, eucalyptus, white thistle, spray roses and frilly lisianthus and with some of the deep-toned dusky pink sedum.
WEDDING CEREMONY BIRCH BACKDROP AT HAMPTON MANOR
Blair eagerly awaits his bride standing in front or the statement backdrop to their wedding ceremony. The scented roses, tumbling foliage and pretty blooms gave the elegant natural touch to this summer wedding.
The aisle was decorated with the softest petals and candlelight. The cutest flower girl and page boy blossomed with their duties on the day. I just loved the kilts.
ELEGANT CENTREPIECES WITH CANDLELIGHT, FOLIAGE AND ROSES
The elegant setting of the Courtyard was decorated with the softest blooms from the day and an abundance of crystal footed vases with candles, smaller votives and candlesticks.
ELEGANT WEDDING CAKE FLOWERS
The elegant cake was decorated with the Charity and quicksand roses and touches for eucalyptus then finished with a ring of foliage around the wooden tree slice. The cake is a key piece to add fresh flowers to and style along with your wedding day, especially visual when the cake is cut later in the evening.
TOP TABLE STYLED WITH CANDLES AND FLORAL GARLAND
As Beth and Blair entered the room to be greeted by family ad friends their top table glowed with candlelight and a foliage and floral garland perfect for their elegant romantic wedding.
Delighted couples are why we work so hard as a team to create beautiful flowers to match their brief perfectly and enhance the setting at Hampton Manor so we loved receiving these comments. ‘Thank you so much for the most wonderful flowers! Hampton Manor took my breath away when I saw it – it looked so beautiful and just how I hoped it would, so thank you so so much. Everyone commented on how stunning it was!
Kristen and Jo have a strong eye for detail and were an absolute pleasure to work with. Their elegant, stylish wedding is so beautifully captured in the wonderful setting of Hampton Manor.
Button Holes for Groomsmen
Kristen and his boys sported buttonholes of Silver Lace spray rose with eucalyptus to look dapper with their navy suits and ties. I just love Kristen’s bow tie look and the elegant name tags created for the buttonholes.
The Bouquets
Jo’s bridal bouquet was a mix of large Four Seasons roses, Fifth Avenue and Silver Lace spray roses with touches of Astrantia and grey eucalyptus populus to frame and trail. The Maid of Honour, young bridesmaid and flower girl carried smaller bouquets with the same pretty mix of blooms.
Ceremony in The Birches – Birch Arch Backdrop
The Birches was the place to welcome guests to Jo and Kristen’s Wedding Ceremony, just look at the stylish signage and graphics for this wedding with the elegant copper tones, with a highlight of flowers and foliage to decorate.
The ceremony took place in front of a Birch Arch Backdrop elegantly dressed with foliage and the softest of blooms. The aisle was lit with candles in copper and glass lanterns with a touch of eucalyptus and the ceremony table where the couple sign the register was dressed with elegant foliage and flowers.
Reception Flowers at Hampton Manor – Long Tables
The long tables were set for the guests with geometric candle holders and copper candlesticks to give a soft glow to Elizabeth Court. Tall elegant arrangements added height to the central table while the top table framed by the Birch Arbour gave an elegant backdrop for the happy duo. The wedding was such a special day enjoyed by family and friends.
I am thrilled to show such candid moments of such a happy day. I have just received the most moving of notes from Jo and Kristen
‘ We just want to thank you so much for all your hard work and creativity on our wedding day. The bouquets, buttonholes, the archway and all of the styling were absolutely stunning! We couldn’t have dreamt of it being any better – so elegant and stylish – all thanks to you!
You are so lovely Karen, and made us both feel at ease with your friendly and calming nature. We were so glad that you were a big part of our special day.’
So if you are looking for a florist and stylist for your wedding at Hampton Manor please do get in touch, we would love to work with you.
Wedding styles are always evolving and we have been creating deconstructed arches for a number of our weddings over the last year or so. To learn a few more tricks of the trade especially creating with no floral foam I enjoyed a couple of days with Sabine Darrall earlier this year. These images show the beauty we can create. Personally, I love the natural green and white of the first image perfect for a foliage-filled wedding.
I just love this romantic look with the combination of the softest blush pink roses, scented lilac , amelanchier and blousy hydrangeas perfect for a spring wedding.
The final image shows how colour can transform the look with strong pink tones and a garden bench.
If you are looking for statement flowers for your wedding please get in touch we would love to be the florist for your wedding. Karen x
Hannah and Joel were married in church followed by a wedding reception at the lovely Shustoke Farm Barns, one of our favourite places.
BRIDAL PARTY FLOWERS – BOUQUETS, BUTTONHOLES & FLOWER CROWNS
A touch of rustic was added to the button holes with lisianthus wax flower, thistle and foliage finished with twine. The most beautiful scented garden roses graced the bouquets while the bridesmaids wore delicate flower crowns to tie in with the button holes. Delivering on the day is always an exciting time seeing the delight when our bride finally sees her wedding coming together.
LITTLE ASTON CHURCH FLOWERS
The church at Little Aston is so pretty with beautiful welcome posies added to the church gate and decorating the altar.
The bridesmaids dresses were so dreamy with their bouquets of garden roses including cafe latte and kiera picking up the blush pink tones. The hair crowns made a simple addition to pull the elegant look together.
SHUSTOKE BARN ENTRANCE TABLES
The entrance tables were decorated with a lovely mix of flowers and family photos with the all-important order of the day to keep your guests on time.
HANGING FLOWER GLOBES AT SHUSTOKE BARN
To make the most of the barn we added an oversized hanging flower globe with a selection of foliage and delphiniums for a statement piece.
MILK CHURNS AND TABLE PLANS
The milk churn with relaxed flowers and foliage filled the entrance with a beautiful scent from the roses.
OVAL TOP TABLE CENTREPIECES
The oval top table was decorated with a footed bowl with cascading blooms and foliage from the day to create the perfect look for this table. A mix of tea lights in complementary tones completed the look with our frames for the table names.
RUSTIC ELEGANT LOW CENTREPIECES
With the style of food in the barn a low centrepiece was chosen with a rustic elegant flower and foliage arrangement set around a central lantern with tea lights to add a further glow to the tables.
STYLING UPSTAIRS IN THE BARN
There is space upstairs add the barn to continue with personal touches, framed photos, hanging decorations and even a chill out tipi for the youngest of guests.
NAKED WEDDING CAKE WITH ROSES
Our friend at Buttercream and Dreams made the most beautiful of cakes for Hannah and Joel. We selected the stunning blooms to finish the look. I just love the macaroons nestled on the cake in the wonderful toning colours.
If you need help with florals and styling for your Shustoke Farm wedding please get in touch as we would love to help. Karen x
We love barn weddings and Blackwell Grange is a great setting for a country wedding.
BLACKWELL GRANGE WEDDING FLOWERS
Nicola and Mark have a love of cycling and at provided us with the most beautiful bike to decorate at the entrance to the Barns. The basket was overflowing with textured flowers and lots of spring blooms.
HANDTIED BOUQUET, SOFT PINK TONES & TEXTURE
Nikola’s hand tied bouquets with a mix of soft and dusky pinks with roses, hellebore, astrantia with a mix of foliage.
We love winter weddings but don’t usually wake up to a fresh coating of snow on the wedding morning. This added to the gorgeous winter look for Zeb and Steph who married at Blackwell Grange.
BRIDAL BOUQUET
Steph carried a winter bridal bouquet with deep burgundy red roses, softer toned quicksand roses, touches of nigella seed heads and a mix of eucalyptus to finish.
WINTER WEDDING BLACKWELL GRANGE – THE CEREMONY
The ceremony at Blackwell Grange offers a huge fireplace with burning fire and a wonderful place to decorate for a winter wedding. The stunning piece on the fireplace continued the wild winter look. Steph loves horses and ponies and had a surprise visit when she came out from her ceremony.
RUSTIC CRATE WEDDING TABLE PLAN
A rustic table plan welcomed guests and made a great keepsake for the bride and groom.
BRIDESMAIDS BOUQUETS RESTING IN BRONZE VASES
Each bouquet featured a single type of bloom from honey moon tulips, parrot tulips, and avalanche roses with the colour and ribbon linking the look. The softest silk ribbons tied around the bridesmaids bouquets presented in bronze vases.
TOP TABLE FLORAL GARLAND
The top table garland with the addition of gold and glass lanterns decorated the top table for a wonderful winter wedding.
Garlands extending along a guest or top table are a firm favourite at weddings and provide a relaxed environment for any wedding celebration. Picking up tips on making our designs foam free and more eco-friendly has been top of my list this year and so I was delighted to join other talented florists to spend a couple of days creating and learning with Sabine Darrall.
At many of our barn venues or in marquees we have the opportunity to create stunning hanging decorations for our wedding couples. Again we now aim to make these foam free and more eco-friendly. The freshest of gathered foliages is always a good place to start and using flowers that will last through the wedding day. We usually hang these arrangements on the day of the wedding.
