PEACH WEDDING FLOWERS – ISCOYD PARK

Another re-post from our blog archives. This wedding was a beautiful summer wedding at Iscoyd Park. We had an abundance of peach wedding flowers, with additional touches of vibrant green and yellow daisies. Fab inspiration for a summer wedding.

ISCOYD PARK WEDDING FLOWERS

We first met Nicola at The National Wedding Show and were really excited to create Iscoyd Park Wedding Flowers. At Passion for Flowers we love working with our couples and creating flowers at their venues and Iscoyd Park and St Mary’s Church were certainly highlights this summer.

Nicola’s dress was a stunning lace dress and we created a gorgeous hand picked bouquet with a mix of David Austin roses in peach, cream and soft pink combined with just picked daisies, veronica and other summer blooms.

COUNTRY CHURCH WEDDING FLOWERS

St Mary’s is the most beautiful country church in England, we fell in love with it when we visited it with Nicola and Mark earlier in the year. The setting is so wonderful at the end of the lane, within minutes of Iscoyd Park.

The church just needs country church wedding flowers to make it come to life, rustic crates at the entrance brimming with summer blooms. Inside the little church Mark and Nicola knew the church would be packed so we concentrated on the central aisle with just picked pew ends and country church wedding flowers hanging from poles. All the rest of the colour came from Nicola and her gorgeous bridesmaids and cute flower girls. We were thrilled when the Church Warden commented they were the best church flowers she had seen!

BUTTON HOLES TIED WITH TWINE

Mark wanted a mix of hand tied button holes tied with twine – just perfect for this country church wedding. Don’t you just love the invitation with Mark and Nicola on their tandem outside the church?

BRIDESMAIDS BOUQUETS ~ JUST PICKED DAISIES AND DAVID AUSTIN ROSES

The bridesmaids dresses were one of the first things Nicola had told me about. The buttercup yellow dresses would set the colour palette for the day. We complemented these with hand tied bouquets with just picked daisies ad David Austin roses in cream. soft pink and peach. The wedding car Nicola and Mark had found was also called ‘Buttercup’ which really brought a smile to my face.

ISCOYD PARK WEDDING FLOWERS ~ HANGING BOTTLES FROM TREES

The gardens at Iscoyd Park are simply stunning. One of the delights of creating Iscoyd Park Wedding Flowers was the opportunity to visit with Mark and Nicola, something at Passion for Flowers we always do for new venues to us. We found the perfect tree for hanging bottles and love the photos with the cricket game taking place. The garden at Iscoyd Park was brimming with roses and other blooms perfect as a backdrop to Nicola and Mark on their wedding day.

ISCOYD PARK WEDDING FLOWERS ~ RUSTIC WOODEN CRATES

The rustic wooden crates from church added colour and life into the marquee. Mark and Nicola wanted to ensure the marquee was not bland and so we all worked together to create a warm inviting look and feel in the marquee. Hessian chair backs with bunches of hand picked flowers decorated the chairs, the lovely table names added even more colour as well as the hand crafted cutlery wraps and favour jars.

ISCOYD PARK WEDDING FLOWERS ~ CRYSTAL GLASS VASES AND HESSIAN TABLE RUNNERS

We decorated the tables with a mix of crystal glass vases in very shape and size, stacks of crystal plates festooned with flowers and mirror cake stands with small crystal jugs and vases, tea lights and hessian runners. In the marquee we intensified the colours of the flowers by adding warmer yellow and more touches of peach. Pew ends were added around the marquee and on windowsills in the house.

HOW TO MAKE A FLOWER CROWN – STEP BY STEP

how to make a flower crown by Passion for Flowers

Ever wondered how to make one of those pretty flower crowns you often see brides and bridesmaids wearing in our weddings? Well here you go, we have put together a step by step guide so you can learn how to make them. This is another of our DIY tutorials we have done in collaboration with Rock My Wedding, see more of our DIY floral guides here.

HOW TO MAKE A FLOWER CROWN

For this example floral crown we have used a mix of roses in nude and pink colours in different sizes as well as wax flower for texture. You can use any flowers for this, the larger the flower heads the less you will need, we suggest using flowers that will be used elsewhere in your wedding and in your bouquet.

how to make a flower crown by Passion for Flowers

YOU WILL NEED

  • Quicksand Roses
  • Sweet Avalanche Roses
  • Bombastic spray Roses
  • Roll of florists’ tape
  • Wax Flower
  • Vendela Roses
  • Fine gauge silver florists’ 32 gauge wire and
  • Medium gauge 56 or 71 wire

how to make a flower crown by Passion for Flowers

1. Measure the head of the bride or person wearing the crown. The easiest way to do this is by using a piece of string. Add an additional 4cm to the length, these will be used to create hooks to hold it together.

how to make a flower crown by Passion for Flowers

2. Using the medium guage wire cut this to match the length of the string, then cover it in florists tape.

how to make a flower crown by Passion for Flowers

3. Select your flowers. For the roses cut the stems just below the flower head and push wire up through the centre of the stem. Add silver wire horizontally through the stem and twist it to secure with the main wire.

how to make a flower crown by Passion for Flowers

4. Cover all the wires with tape, stretching the tape and pulling it as you wind around the wire to keep it as thin as possible. (no need to wire the wax flower)

how to make a flower crown by Passion for Flowers

6. Once you have done this for all the flowers you are going to use in your flower crown you can start adding them to the longer piece of tape covered wire you prepared in step 2. Working from one end, place the first flower and fasten to the circlet wire with florists tape, wrapping it around the wires to make sure it is secure, then add another flower and another. Try alternate the flowers on either side of the wire for a natural look and make sure large and small roses are interspersed with the wax flower for texture.

Let us know if you have a go at this yourself – we’d love to see your creations.

GREY WHITE AND GOLD WEDDING FLOWERS | GLAMOROUS NEW YEARS EVE WEDDING

candelabra-wedding-flowers-in-church

We are going to start re-publishing some of our most loved weddings that feature in our blog archives, our old blog doesn’t get a lot of views any more and we think it’s a big shame that our newer couples don’t get to see some of our favourite weddings from the past couple of years. If you are planning a glamorous wedding with touches of white, grey and gold wedding flowers you will love Amy and Huw’s New Years Eve wedding.

top table wedding flower garland full length white grey silver

I first met Amy at the Rock My Wedding Pop Up Shop last year when Lolly introduced us and knew we would be able to help her with her plans for a gorgeous New Years Eve Wedding. Amy and Huw were married in the seclusion of St Paul’s Convent, bringing back lovely memories for her family, and the couple were welcomed with open arms.

The ceremony in the chapel was followed by a sumptuous dinner and party at Edgbaston Golf Club where we helped Amy create a glamorous look for her New Years Eve wedding celebrations.

BRIDAL BOUQUET ~ WHITE, GOLD, IVORY AND GREEN

Flowers were very important to Amy and she wanted a bouquet to suit her elegant lace wedding gown. The bouquet was a mix of white, ivory and gold with touches of green from the eucalyptus. We included touches of gold with hydrangea, artichoke heads and bitter balls perfect with  creamy hydrangea, roses and lisianthus all finished with a luxe gold wrap to the stems.

BRIDESMAIDS BOUQUETS ~ WHITE AND GOLD WEDDING FLOWERS

Amy had chosen her bridesmaids dresses with a glamour wedding in mind, the girls had wonderful gold dresses and we teamed these with hand tied bouquets of creamy flowers with accents of gold.

FLOWER CROWNS ~ GREY, WHITE AND GOLD

Later in the evening Amy planned a surprise when she changed her veil and head dress for a delicate flower crown. We always love delivering the bridal party flowers on the day when everyone is getting ready and were delighted that Amy was so happy with her flowers.

BUTTON HOLES ~ IVORY & GREY

Huw and the men had button holes of ivory roses with grey dusty miller. The stems were delicately covered with gold ribbon to tie in with the girls bouquets.

THE CEREMONY FLOWERS ~ PEW ENDS & HURRICANE LANTERNS

Flowers in the chapel were a very important part of Amy and Huw’s day and we enjoyed visiting St Paul’s to discuss details together. Hurricane lamps lined the route through the cloisters and down the aisle and provided the candlelight the couple wanted. Eucalyptus in the pew ends added a lovely winter aroma in the chapel.wedding-church-flowers-white-and-green-pew-endswedding-church-flowers-white-hydrangea-pew-ends

THE CEREMONY FLOWERS ~ LARGE CANDELABRA

For the ceremony we added to the candlelight with large silver candelabra with creamy white flowers and touches of gold and green, the chapel looked resplendent for such a joyous occasion.

RECEPTION FLOWERS ~ LONG TOP TABLE GARLAND GREY, WHITE AND GOLD

With the wedding on New Year’s Eve Amy and Huw wanted to create a glamorous party feel to their wedding celebrations. The gold chairs set the tone and a highlight was the full length garland of flowers to the top table. Mounds of cream hydrangea, roses and touches of gold hydrangea, artichoke heads and grey foliage worked perfectly and as soon as the candles were light the room was ready for Amy and Huw to welcome their family and friends.

RECEPTION FLOWERS ~ GUEST TABLES

Amy and her mum had fun collecting vintage rose bowls, silver candelabra and silver rose bowls for the the guest tables. We loved filling them with gold, cream and grey flowers to continue the glamour look to their New Year’s Eve wedding celebration. A touch of whimsy was added by Amy and Huw, the napkins were in the shape of their pet rabbit Flapjack, who had a special visit from Amy and Huw before they arrived at their reception.

BRIDAL BOUQUET – DUSKY PINK ROSES & HYDRANGEAS

Rachael had a most romantic dress and this shot showing her just finishing off looks amazing. She chose a bouquet of dusky pink roses with hydrangea to keep to her classic elegant look.

BRIDESMAIDS BOUQUETS – MIX OF DUSKY PINK ROSES & HYDRANGEAS

I love the soft tones and detail on the bridesmaids’ dresses and we choose hydrangea and the mix of dusky pink roses when we met with Rachael. It is always a good idea to take fabric swatches along when you visit your florist to check on colours. I feel that a mix of tones work much better to pull the look together and give some variety to the bouquets.

WATERCOLOUR PASTEL WEDDING FLOWERS {FEATURED ON RMW}

pastel coloured hydrangea bouquets flower crown blue pink green

Caroline and Rob’s wedding has been featured on Rock My Wedding today! We loved working on this wedding last summer, Caroline and Rob’s wedding at Shustoke Farm Barns was oh so beautiful. Their colour palette was a range of pastel tones inspired by watercolour.

The bouquets were a mix of blues, greens and pinks using hydrangeas and roses for a blousy look. Caroline loved her flower crown, she wore it all through the day.

We blogged this wedding back in the summer, see the full feature here to read all about her flowers (bouquets, flower crown, hanging globes & crates) and even more wedding details.

SANDON HALL WEDDING – ELEGANT BLUE AND WHITE WEDDING FLOWERS

Blue and White Bridesmaids Bouquets with Nave Bridesmaids Dresses by Passion for Flowers

Bethan and Mark were married last spring at All Saints, the parish church of Sandon, before celebrating their marriage with a drinks reception in Sandon Hall and a wedding breakfast in the stunning marquee. After meeting with Bethan at Sandon Hall we worked on ideas for her cream, white and navy colour scheme to include some blue tones in the flowers perfect for a spring wedding. We just loved their elegant blue and white wedding and felt extremely priveleged to create their wedding flowers.

BLUE AND WHITE TRAILING BRIDAL BOUQUET

Bethan was certain she wanted a trailing bridal bouquet and we designed  a trailing mixed bouquet with a relaxed  look with avalanche roses, scented freesias, feathery astilbe, trailing ivy, eucalyptus, lisianthus, with some blue tones in the flowers from delphiniums and love in a mist just perfect with her elegant dress and veil.

CHURCH WEDDING FLOWERS – STONE URNS

All Saints church at Sandon is a wonderful stone building and we felt that the stone urns on plinths would keep everything looking very natural. We added some blousy hydrangea to the mix of tulips, freesia, nigella love in a mist, delphiniums, and plenty of eucalyptus and ivy to create a larger entrance arrangement . Outside the church we set up a mix of spring blooms in a wooden crate and a small posy was placed in the churchyard.

SANDON HALL MARQUEE WEDDING – CANDELABRA CENTREPIECES

In the marquee at Sandon Hall we created beautiful candelabra centrepieces for the tables. The silver candelabra created an elegant look and the white of the marquee was the perfect backdrop for such stunning arrangements with soft spring flowers and plenty of natural foliage. I just love the pop of the blue delphiniums in the mix of flowers.

I have a wonderful job meeting so many lovely couples in the build up to their  wedding day and so wanted to share this lovely note from Bethan and Mark.

‘Thank you so much for the incredible flowers and arrangements you put together for our wedding. They were simply stunning and complemented my dress, my bridesmaids’ dresses and the surroundings absolutely perfectly.

I still have no idea how you managed to produce the flowers of my dreams with the very few snippets of information I gave you, a credit to your incredible talent! You made the whole process so easy and we knew we had absolutely nothing to worry about as far as our flowers were concerned. Thank you!’

STEP BY STEP GUIDE HOW TO MAKE FLORAL WEDDING CENTREPIECES – RUSTIC CRATE

step by step guide how to make a floral wedding centrepiece for rustic weddings using a wooden crate by Passion for Flowers

Are you thinking of having a go at doing your wedding flowers yourself? We have been working with Rock My Wedding to put together some easy to follow step by step guides (see our other step by step tutorials here). Today we show you how to make a floral wedding centrepiece for rustic style weddings using a wooden crate as your container.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE HOW TO MAKE FLORAL WEDDING CENTREPIECES – RUSTIC CRATE

Follow our step by step instructions as this is what you will end up with – perfect for a rustic centrepiece.

step by step guide how to make a floral wedding centrepiece for rustic weddings using a wooden crate by Passion for Flowers

To create a relaxed rustic or country style look we have chosen a mix of flowers, including pittosporum, light blue hydrangeas, blue delphiniums, pink wax flower, Sweert Avalanche roses, dahlias, amni and blue veronica.

A similar wooden crate can be purchased from our online boutique, The Wedding of my Dreams, you will need to paint this white (or leave it with a the wooden finish it is up to you).

step by step guide how to make a floral wedding centrepiece for rustic weddings using a wooden crate by Passion for Flowers

1. Line the wooden crate with cellophane or even a plastic bag if you don’t have cellophane.

2. Cut a piece of oasis to size and soak in a bucket of water.

3. Place the oasis inside the wooden crate on a plastic oasis tray.

4. Now it is time to starting adding the flowers, to begin with edge the box with your chosen foliage. Here we suggest edging it with the pittosporum and pink wax flower.

step by step guide how to make a floral wedding centrepiece for rustic weddings using a wooden crate by Passion for Flowersstep by step guide how to make a floral wedding centrepiece for rustic weddings using a wooden crate by Passion for Flowers

5. Once you have added foliage you should position the key flowers in the oasis. So, this is the hydrangeas, roses and dahlias.

6. Remember to cut your stems on a diagonal to increase the surface area which enables them to drink more water.

7. Fill in any gaps with your remaining flowers.

8. As this is going in the centre of you tables, or perhaps running down the centre of a long table make sure you look at it from different angles to make sure there are no gaps. If you find some gaps just fill them in with foliage or any remaining flowers.

step by step guide how to make a floral wedding centrepiece for rustic weddings using a wooden crate by Passion for Flowersstep by step guide how to make a floral wedding centrepiece for rustic weddings using a wooden crate by Passion for Flowersstep by step guide how to make a floral wedding centrepiece for rustic weddings using a wooden crate by Passion for Flowers

This centrepiece is ideal for a relaxed rustic or country wedding. If blue and pinks aren’t your colours you can use different flowers. Have a look at our pinterest board ‘Flower Library – What’s That Flower Called’ to browse some of our favourite wedding flowers, it also tells you which season they are available in. Or if you are having long guest tables rather than round we suggest you make a few of these and line them up down the length of the table, this can also look good on the top table.

Leave us a comment if you have a go at making this, we’d love to hear how you get on and see pictures.

As winter is on it’s way we thought we’d share with you one of our all time favourite winter wonderland weddings. This winter wonderland wedding had a black, white and silver colour palette with a hint of sparkle. We did this wedding back in the winter of 2012 and still love this classic timeless look.

FLOWERS USED AT THIS WINTER WONDERLAND WEDDING

We used white flowers with highlights of black, including frilly honeymoon tulips, white gypsophila, black and white anemones and white hydrangeas. To bring in the silver and sparkle elements to the décor we used mercury silver vases, white and silver branches / twigs as well as fir cones to bring a natural winter look to the tables.

PASSION FOR FLOWERS FEATURED IN WEDDING FLOWERS AND ACCESSORIES MAGAZINE

passion for flowers wedding flowers and accessories magazine

Here at Passion for Flowers we love seeing our work in print. A couple of months ago we took our floral designs down to London for a shoot with Wedding Flowers and Accessories Magazine. Here is the finished result – we created mixed blooms in pinks, blues and greens for a bright Summer look.

passion for flowers wedding flowers and accessories magazinepassion for flowers wedding flowers and accessories magazineTHE BOUQUET

For the bouquet we created a relaxed hand tied bouquet of pink, white, green and blue hydrangeas with touches of pink astilbe, veronica, wax flowers and seeded eucalyptus. Tied with vintage lace and a brooch.

WHITEWASHED WOODEN CRATE CENTREPIECE

For the centrepiece we used a wooden crate (available from The Wedding of my Dreams) and painted it white. We used similar flowers to the bouquet for a relaxed look. We included mixed colours of hydrangeas, blush pink roses, wax flower, astilbe and eucalyptus.

BUTTONHOLE

The buttonhole was an amnesia rose, snippet of blue hydrangea and eucalyptus tied with rustic twine.

PLACE SETTING

The place setting shown on the green napkin was a small bunch including a snippet of blue hydrangea, blush pink rose, eucalyptus and wax flower tied with twine. These make pretty place settings for the ladies.

This mix of flowers would suits a relaxed wedding, perhaps at a barn or in a marquee during the Spring or Summer. This mix of colours are also perfect if you have chosen a watercolour theme for your wedding.

FAIRYTALE BOUQUET – WHITE WEDDING BOUQUET

Another of our bouquets were also featured within the magazine, this white wedding bouquet is hand tied with lace. We used a mix of white winter flowers for this bouquet including white ranunculus, white hydrangeas and white roses.

BLUSH PINK WEDDING BOUQUET & FLOWER ARCH – SPRING FLOWERS

green foliage whimsical delicate floral garland archway wedding

As you may be aware we have recently changed to a new blog (when we relaunched our website) this means many of our older but still very popular blog posts are in our archives. If you haven’t had time to scroll through our archives don’t worry, from time to time we repost the most popular blog posts on here for you to see.

This post is filled with spring inspiration, with a blush pink wedding bouquet and flower arch. The delicate blush pink florals used in the garland and bouquet would look stunning  and could be incorporated into your wedding if you are getting married in the spring.

BLUSH PINK WEDDING INSPIRATION

blush pink wedding bouquet white spring bridal bouquet posy foliage garland

As part of the love inspired shoot for Rock My Wedding back in January we created a delicate archway garland to frame the bride, we kept the foliage and flowers whimsical wispy and delicate to complement the beautiful lace wedding dress. We used delicate foliage including pieris with spring catkins as a base for the garland and then wired in the softest pale pink tulips, lisianthus and scented narcissus.

BLUSH PINK WEDDING BOUQUET & FLOWER ARCH

The small delicate blush pink bridal bouquet posy was a spring mix of narcissi, ranunculus, palest blush pink lisianthus and snippets of delicate blush pink broom hand tied with textured ribbon with a blush pink satin overlay, finished with a bow. This mix is perfect for a blush pink spring wedding.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE HOW TO MAKE FLORAL WEDDING CENTREPIECES – RUSTIC GLAMOUR

step by step guide how to make wedding centrepieces - rustic glamour (5)

Another of our DIY tutorials was featured on Rock My Wedding this week. If you are thinking of making your own wedding centrepieces or maybe your Christmas dining table centrepieces then have a look at these easy to follow instructions. This step by step guide shows how to make a floral centrepiece using a ring of oasis, we have added a mercury silver hurricane vase to the centre for a rustic glamour look with ribbed silver tea light holders to finish. You can change the flowers and central lantern to create a floral centrepiece of a different style using the same guidelines.

For example you could use a clear glass hurricane vase or ribbed glass lantern in the centre, or for a more rustic look perhaps a bark lantern.

Photos by Adam Crohill, see the full instructions over on Rock My Wedding.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE HOW TO MAKE FLORAL WEDDING CENTREPIECES – RUSTIC GLAMOUR

step by step guide how to make wedding centrepiece - rustic glamour (2)

To keep this example simple and stylish we have used four ingredients, you can use more if you wish. We used eucalyptus (a lovely grey / green tone for winter), brunia (grey balls to add textures and soft tones), thistles (these add more texture and bring in a subtle blue tone) and finally fluffy white hydrangeas.

The above example is perfect for a rustic winter or rustic glamour wedding. Alternatively you could use different flowers for different seasons.

Spring example: for a pink and white scented spring wedding we suggest white ranunculus, soft pink freesias (adding a lovely scent), blush pink Sweet Avalanches Roses and greenery of your choice, seeded eucalyptus would look stunning. You could lighten with sprigs of gypsophila.

Summer example: for a peach and green toned summer wedding we suggest peach Juliet David Austin roses, cream David Austin roses, Wizard Of Oz Dahlias, tanacetum daisies and vibrant green amni and alchemilla mollis.

Autumn example: for a nude, grey and bronze toned autumn wedding we would suggest dusty miller, large cafe au lait dahlias, Quicksand roses, brunia, olive foliage and scabious seed pods.

I just love weddings with lots of details and personal touches. Steffi and Dan came down with their families to meet me and tell me about the Pride and Prejudice inspired wedding they were planning just perfect for the setting in The Cloisters at Coombe Abbey.

I loved the idea of incorporating The Second World War ideas and bringing in both their personalities to create a very personal and memorable wedding day truly reflecting them as a couple.

CANDELABRA WEDDING CENTREPIECES – WHITE WEDDING FLOWERS

The magestic candelabra were set at the end of the top table and we added a floral ring of pure white flowers including hydrangeas, peonies, white garden  roses, delphiniums and tulips perfect for a May wedding. The fireplace provides a great backdrop and needs opulent flowers on the top table. A large centre piece was created and we added vases of flowers, tea lights and stacks of books collected by the bride.

The guest tables had books for the guests, they had been asked their favourite book in the invitation and the bride had searched for the relevant books. Vases of flowers filled the space on the tables and the elegant candlelight completed the look.

PEACH AND PINK WEDDING BOUQUETS & FLOWER CROWNS – A VINTAGE COUNTRY GARDEN WEDDING

Victoria and Richard had a beautiful wedding at Hampton In Arden Church followed by a wonderful reception at Hampton Manor. This summer wedding had a vintage country garden style to it, including highlights of pink, peach and white to complement the mint green bridesmaids dresses.

PEACH AND PINK WEDDING BOUQUETS

For the bridal and bridesmaids bouquets we added highlights of peach and pink flowers which look stunning during the summer months. We used dahlia Cafe au Lait, a mix of vintage roses in creams, soft and deeper pink and peach tones of Magic Avalanche, Pearl Avalanche, scented Kiera garden roses, astrantia, eucalyptus and olive foliage with rosemary for a relaxed look. Long trailing ribbons completed the look.

PEACH BUTTON HOLE

Richard wore a lovely peach rose button hole which looked perfect against his suit jacket and tied in perfectly to Victoria’s bouquet.

PEACH AND PINK BOUQUETS WITH TRAILING RIBBONS

The bridesmaids wore celadon mint green dresses, their bouquets were a smaller version of the bridal bouquet with trailing ribbons.

PASSION FOR FLOWERS – FLORISTS AT THE NATIONAL WEDDING SHOW

Passion-for-Flowers-wedding-florists-warwickshire-birmingham-cotswolds-the-national-wedding-show-2014-

As you may know here at Passion for Flowers we exhibited at The National Wedding Show in Birmingham last weekend, we absolutely loved the whole weekend meeting newly engaged couples and industry friends. We plan our stand months in advance it was amazing to see our visions come to life, we believe all the hard work and planning paid off as we were thrilled to be awarded The Outstanding Exhibitor Award.

We invited Nicola of Daffodil Waves Photography along to take some photos of our stand for those of you who couldn’t make it to the show.

PASSION FOR FLOWERS – A WEDDING FLORISTS STAND

We chose to create a rustic glamour setting for our stand this year, we often work at rustic style wedding venues (barns and farms) and love adding a touch of glamour to the tables mixed in with the natural rustic look.

LONG TABLE WITH A SEA OF FLOWERS AND GOLD CANDELABRA

The long table scape was our main feature this year, we set it for 6 to give an idea of how it could be used at a wedding. More venues are offering long tables for receptions now, or these florals could go along a top table.

Down the centre of the table we created a sea of flowers in bronze, gold and crystal glass vases with three gold candelabra to give height (all available to hire from Passion for Flowers).

The mix of flowers we used on the table were Quicksand roses, Secret Garden roses, Vendela roses, Bombastic spray roses, Café Au Lait dahlias, white ranunculus, white anemones, scabious seed heads, wax flower, brunia, dusty miller and eucalyptus.

BRONZE TEA LIGHT HOLDERS & DETAILS

We used a number of decorations from our sister company The Wedding of my Dreams for extra styling, including bronze ribbed tea light holders and chunky bronze vases. At each place setting was an advice for the bride and groom coaster – we love this as an alternative wedding guest book.

WEDDING STATIONERY

The stationery was by Tom Gautier of Paper & Things, we loved the individual menus and name cards with the floral illustration, and the table plan cards too. The name cards were used in our bud vase name card holders, which are just like old fashioned salt cellars.

TALL GLASS VASES FOR CENTREPIECES

Along the back wall we displayed a tall centrepiece in a relaxed style, this could either be used as a centrepiece with a grouping of smaller bronze vases around the base or as a floral display at the wedding ceremony. The table plan is one of our newest and favourite table plans we hire out, we created a floral garland around the arch of the window shutters table plan with blush pink and nude florals in bronze vases running in front of it.

BRIDAL BOUQUETS

We had two bridal bouquets on display, both tied with glamorous gold ribbon to trail. The first was a blousy loose hand tied bouquet of Café Au Lait dahlias, white ranunculus, dusty miller and white astilbe. The other was a rose bouquet of Quicksand roses, Bombastic spray roses, wax flower and eucalyptus.

CHALKBOARD SIGNS

On the chair backs we used a couple of chalkboard chair signs from The Wedding of my Dreams, Mr & Mrs as well as Here Comes the Bride. On the other chairs we created floral chair garlands of eucalyptus, ivy, soft ruscus, scabious seed heads and wax flower for a relaxed rustic look.

FLOWER CROWNS

Each day at the show we wore flower crowns created with a similar mix of flowers we had used elsewhere in the displays.

Passion-for-Flowers-wedding-florists-warwickshire-birmingham-cotswolds-the-national-wedding-show-2014-

We used crates along the back wall to showcase some of our other favourite ideas, including rustic tree slices with a grouping of bottles, succulent wedding favours, sprinkle me confetti bags and our welcome wedding sign. Of course we proudly displayed our Best Wedding Florist in the West Midlands award.

THE CHAMPAGNE BAR FLOWERS

Here at Passion for Flowers we strategically chose a stand next to the champagne bar, mainly so we could treat ourselves at the end of a busy day! We created table centres for the tables on the champagne bar using soft pastel pinks and creams. The flowers we used in theses centrepieces were Sweet Avalanche roses, Bombastic spray roses, astilbe, wax flower, astrantia and white hydrangeas.

WEDDING MAGAZINE STAND

We also loved creating the garlands for Wedding Magazine’s stand, and made the girls flower crowns to wear throughout the show. The garlands were in keeping with their bright pink logo so we used Kate David Austin roses, lisianthus, Wizard Of Oz dahlias, Harmony dahlias, Blue Curiosa roses, veronica, sedum, astrantia and poppy heads.

We love their comment…

The flowers on the stand were the best we have ever had, and we all LOVED the flower crowns you very kindly made.
