Just received a lovely thank you from Emma and Ben who were married at Shustoke Farm Barns in August. We love this shot of Emma and Ben having their confetti moment. We supplied them with real rose petal confetti. Emma’s bouquet was a mix of blush pink spray roses, larger blush pink roses, white hydrangeas with snippets of eucalyptus and lavender.
THANK YOU
Thank you so much to you, Gemma and your team for the most beautiful flowers and styling for our wedding and the most excellent service. The flower globe is currently a very extravagant hanging basket at my parents’ house in Kenilworth.
Everything was absolutely just as we wanted and the flowers and styling were even better than I could have imagined.
This gorgeous wedding has so many of our favourite things flower wall backdrop, peonies and lots of gold glitter so we were thrilled to take our team down to Curradine Barns for this amazing wedding for the lovely Louise and Rob.
CREATING THE FLOWER WALL BACKDROP AT CURRADINE BARNS
Louise had one particular request she wanted flowers to cover the wall behind the top table to create a backdrop for her wedding celebrations. So the team carefully created her dream by hanging bombastic and miss bombastic spray roses with soft lisianthus to soften her backdrop. Louise and the girls were getting ready at the Barn and so popped in en masse to check how things were going.
PEONY BOUQUETS FOR THE BRIDE AND BRIDESMAIDS
Glamour was the key to the day and nothing hits the spot more than masses of peonies for beautiful bouquets with luxe dresses and lots of gold and glitter.
CHURCH WEDDING CEREMONY
The wedding took place at Great Witley Church in Worcestershire and was worth the steep climb up the hill to reveal the most beautiful Baroque Church, noted to be the finest example in England. An abundance of gold created the most magical setting for tying the knot.
CURRADINE BARN WEDDING FLOWERS AND DECORATIONS
The gold signage and stationery continued the gold and glitter mood and was used everywhere, I just love this Order of the Day.
Lush florals in glass footed bowls were laid out on the tables with hanging flower hoops suspended from the beams over many of the tables to create the natural flower filled room for our happy couple. I just love seeing the delight on Louise’s face as she enters her dream room.
TOP TABLE FLORAL GARLAND AND FLOWER WALL BACKDROP
As the evening went on the speeches and toasts were enjoyed by all with a floral garland to the top table and the stunning flower wall backdrop. Congratulations to the new Mr and Mrs Jeffers you planned a great party for family and friends.
GOLD WEDDING CAKE, BOUQUETS TO DECORATE
We left vases to keep the bouquets looking lush around the beautiful gold wedding cake set on the gold glitter cloth.
SPARKLERS!
Sparklers always add a bit of fun to the evening celebrations.
FLOWER CROWN FOR THE EVENING
If you fancy a change of look from day to evening then change your hairpiece or veil for a flower crown to be worn for the dancing.
Reeya Chalotra and Vishal Kapoor’s wedding at Shustoke Farm Barns in July was an elegant, stripped back look with natural flowers. We combined a mix of blooms chosen with the couple including hydrangea, wax flower, fountain grass, grey brunia, lisianthus, eucalyptus and highlights of bombastic soft blush spray roses. Just perfect for the setting at Shustoke Farm Barns in Warwickshire.
ORGANIC STYLE CEREMONY FLOWERS
The ceremony had a natural organic style with hand tied bunches of wax flower, eucalyptus and spray roses to the chairs.
CEREMONY TABLE
To decorate the large wooden ceremony table a loose garland was created with plenty or organic foliage and blooms from the day. Garlands are a great look in a barn style venue with the addition of clylinder vases and candles for some magical candlelight.
HANGING HOOPS OF FLOWERS
The large open barns also benefit from some hanging flowers and so we designed hanging hoops made of wicker and wire, covered with relaxed foliage and flowers. It is important to use large scale blooms like hydrangea in these size of designs to create a dramatic look. Smaller blooms would be lost in a hoop of this size.
GUEST BOOK TABLE
The guest book table had photos and a rustic wooden box with soft organic blooms from the day.
Reeya and Vishal had a beautiful wedding and we are looking forward to seeing them again at The Ashes for Hannah and Rishi’s wedding. Thank you for recommending us. x
We always get a thrill when we see one of our weddings on Rock My Wedding and we loved this awesome wedding at Shustoke Farm Barns one of our Warwickshire venues.
RUSTIC LUXE WEDDING AT SHUSTOKE FARM BARNS
The barn lends itself to a rustic luxe wedding so we worked with Jackie and Ross to create a perfect look for their late summer wedding. Metallic vases and votives along with glass bottles worked well for their rustic look. The curated antlers were the finishing touch together with the stationery created with love by the groom’s sister, a graphic designer.
THE BOUQUETS – ROSES AND HYDRANGEAS
Fluffy hydrangeas with O’Hara roses were bound together to create a lush late summer bouquet with a gorgeous scent. The bridal bouquet included seeded eucalyptus and touches of baby’s breath with long trailing ribbons.
BRIDESMAIDS BOUQUETS
The bridesmaids carried hydrangea and eucalyptus bouquets, a great combination with their mint dresses.I love this relaxed image in the field.
THE BUTTON HOLES
Rustic button holes with spray rose, eucalyptus and thistle suited the boys.
CEREMONY AT SHUSTOKE FARM BARNS
Shustoke Farm Barns is lovely for an indoor ceremony with its exposed brick work, beams and twinkling lights.
RUSTIC LUXE STYLING & WELCOME FLOWERS
To add a WOW factor to your wedding a rustic flower garland creates a great welcome to your guests and gives a first glimpse of your wedding celebrations. Here blousy hydrangea, eucalyptus and baby’s breath met the rustic brief. Simple wicker wreaths, bottles and tree slices with a few hidden stags continued the relaxed feel to the day.
THE TABLE PLAN – POLAROID PHOTOS FOR EACH GUEST
The polaroid table plan helps each guest find their seat.
RUSTIC LUXE WEDDING CENTREPIECES
The eucalyptus place settings and favours continue the rustic luxe ideas complementing the centrepieces and styling.
WEDDING CAKE ON WOODEN TREE SLICE
The simple cake just needed a couple of star blooms to dress.
We loved working with Jackie and Ross to help them develop their wedding look and it seems they loved us too. x
“Thanks so much for all your efforts with the flowers. They were stunning and I thought the venue looked great. You have been great throughout the whole process so thanks from both of us. Love Jackie & Ross x
Hampton Manor is a perfect choice for an elegant wedding. Helen and Richard tied the knot in September at this gorgeous venue. We created a classic, elegant look and feel to to their wedding day perfect for the setting at Hampton Manor. We incorporated elegant roses and candles in the ceremony and reception.
LILAC, BLUSH PINK & CREAM ROSE BRIDAL BOUQUET
The bridal bouquet was a classic mix of lilac, blush pink and cream roses, we love the look of the avalanche, sweet avalanche roses with lilac ocean song roses and touches of scented freesia.
LILAC ROSE AND CREAM ROSE BUTTON HOLES
The ladies wore soft lilac ocean song, freesia and lisianthus button holes with the men in cream rose button holes. I love this image of Helen, her dad and attendants walking across to the ceremony.
ELEGANT AISLE DECORATIONS – CLEAR GLASS VASES WITH CANDLES & FRESH ROSE PETALS
The aisle was elegantly styled with glass vases with candles and a sprinkling of fresh rose petals for a classic look.
Glass cylinder vases with an elegant mix of roses adhorned the ceremony table, with soft candles added to finish the look.
ELEGANT WEDDING CENTREPIECES AT HAMPTON MANOR – TALL GLASS VASES
Hampton Manor suits elegant wedding centrepieces and we created tall glass vases with an elegant arrangement of roses, freesia and hydrangea.
WEDDING CAKE ON LAYER OF FLOWERS – ROSES AND HYDRANGEAS
The elegant wedding cake created by Ben The Cakeman sat on a bed of roses and hydrangea flowers continuing the soft tones of the day. What a sumptuous creation.
I was delighted to hear back from the new Mr and Mrs Scullion “Everything was perfect and absolutely beautiful. I was so pleased with how everything looked.”
At the end of October Passion for Flowers transformed The Birches, Hampton Manor’s wedding ceremony barn, into a woodland rustic wedding ceremony setting for their Wedding Fair. We wanted to style the barn for an Autumn woodland wedding ceremony, below are just a few photos, by Fjona Wei-Ling. More photos to follow shortly.
WOODLAND RUSTIC WEDDING CEREMONY AT HAMPTON MANOR
To line the aisle we placed a couple of stacked tree slices with a mix of moss, succulents and candles to create a woodland walkway for the bride to walk towards her groom. At the end of the aisle where the couple stand to say their vows and promises we wanted to create a woodland area to frame the couple.
The woodland wedding arbour to frame the couple as they say their vows and promises was a mix of moss, foliage, wax flower, amaranthus and roses. At the base we used large tree stumps in varying sizes covered in moss and succulents with the addition of candle light to add a rustic glow to the area.
A garland was laid on the floor in a semi circle for the couple to stand inside when they say their vows.
For the Wedding Fair we also showed our wooden wedding favour cart, which we hire out to our couples. This was filled with jam wedding favours and popcorn favours. Our chalkboard signs were hung over chairs to give couples more ideas for decorating the wedding ceremony barn.
Karen delivered an inspiration session at Hampton Manor’s wedding fair, helping couples work with the seasons for their wedding. Our set of vintage ladders was used to hold jam jars filled with flowers and foliage from different seasons.
Are you thinking of choosing deep purple and burgundy tones for your wedding flowers? Recently we were asked by Wedding Flowers Magazine to take our designs down to London to be shot for their November issue. We used deep purple / maroon / burgundy flowers mixed with a touch of gold to add some glamour.
DEEP PURPLE BRIDAL BOUQUET
For the bridal bouquet we used an natural mix of smoke bush and clematis foliage, deep toned dahlia perfect for an autumn wedding with scabious, scented Kiera rose, sloe berries and touches of trailing amaranthus. The mix of ribbons created a soft romantic finish.
DEEP PURPLE FLOWERS IN CRYSTAL BOWLS ON A GOLD PLATE FOR WEDDING CENTREPIECE
For the centrepiece we created an asymmetrical design in an antique crystal bowl filled with autumnal foliage and blooms, the gold plate added a touch of glamour and height to the design. The combination of autumnal foliage smoke bush, clematis with a mix of sedum and deep toned blooms were the perfect fit with the lush Kiera roses.
PLACE SETTINGS / ESCORT CARD IDEA
For the escort cards we used a mix of mini bottles with guests name and brought the outside in by incorporating snippets of foliage and flowers to set the tone for the day.
Caroline and Rob’s wedding has been featured on Rock My Wedding today! We loved working on this wedding last summer, Caroline and Rob’s wedding at Shustoke Farm Barns was oh so beautiful. Their colour palette was a range of pastel tones inspired by watercolour.
The bouquets were a mix of blues, greens and pinks using hydrangeas and roses for a blousy look. Caroline loved her flower crown, she wore it all through the day.
We blogged this wedding back in the summer, see the full feature here to read all about her flowers (bouquets, flower crown, hanging globes & crates) and even more wedding details.
As winter is on it’s way we thought we’d share with you one of our all time favourite winter wonderland weddings. This winter wonderland wedding had a black, white and silver colour palette with a hint of sparkle. We did this wedding back in the winter of 2012 and still love this classic timeless look.
FLOWERS USED AT THIS WINTER WONDERLAND WEDDING
We used white flowers with highlights of black, including frilly honeymoon tulips, white gypsophila, black and white anemones and white hydrangeas. To bring in the silver and sparkle elements to the décor we used mercury silver vases, white and silver branches / twigs as well as fir cones to bring a natural winter look to the tables.
As you may be aware we have recently changed to a new blog (when we relaunched our website) this means many of our older but still very popular blog posts are in our archives. If you haven’t had time to scroll through our archives don’t worry, from time to time we repost the most popular blog posts on here for you to see.
This post is filled with spring inspiration, with a blush pink wedding bouquet and flower arch. The delicate blush pink florals used in the garland and bouquet would look stunning and could be incorporated into your wedding if you are getting married in the spring.
BLUSH PINK WEDDING INSPIRATION
As part of the love inspired shoot for Rock My Wedding back in January we created a delicate archway garland to frame the bride, we kept the foliage and flowers whimsical wispy and delicate to complement the beautiful lace wedding dress. We used delicate foliage including pieris with spring catkins as a base for the garland and then wired in the softest pale pink tulips, lisianthus and scented narcissus.
BLUSH PINK WEDDING BOUQUET & FLOWER ARCH
The small delicate blush pink bridal bouquet posy was a spring mix of narcissi, ranunculus, palest blush pink lisianthus and snippets of delicate blush pink broom hand tied with textured ribbon with a blush pink satin overlay, finished with a bow. This mix is perfect for a blush pink spring wedding.
Another of our DIY tutorials was featured on Rock My Wedding this week. If you are thinking of making your own wedding centrepieces or maybe your Christmas dining table centrepieces then have a look at these easy to follow instructions. This step by step guide shows how to make a floral centrepiece using a ring of oasis, we have added a mercury silver hurricane vase to the centre for a rustic glamour look with ribbed silver tea light holders to finish. You can change the flowers and central lantern to create a floral centrepiece of a different style using the same guidelines.
For example you could use a clear glass hurricane vase or ribbed glass lantern in the centre, or for a more rustic look perhaps a bark lantern.
STEP BY STEP GUIDE HOW TO MAKE FLORAL WEDDING CENTREPIECES – RUSTIC GLAMOUR
To keep this example simple and stylish we have used four ingredients, you can use more if you wish. We used eucalyptus (a lovely grey / green tone for winter), brunia (grey balls to add textures and soft tones), thistles (these add more texture and bring in a subtle blue tone) and finally fluffy white hydrangeas.
The above example is perfect for a rustic winter or rustic glamour wedding. Alternatively you could use different flowers for different seasons.
Spring example: for a pink and white scented spring wedding we suggest white ranunculus, soft pink freesias (adding a lovely scent), blush pink Sweet Avalanches Roses and greenery of your choice, seeded eucalyptus would look stunning. You could lighten with sprigs of gypsophila.
Summer example: for a peach and green toned summer wedding we suggest peach Juliet David Austin roses, cream David Austin roses, Wizard Of Oz Dahlias, tanacetum daisies and vibrant green amni and alchemilla mollis.
Autumn example: for a nude, grey and bronze toned autumn wedding we would suggest dusty miller, large cafe au lait dahlias, Quicksand roses, brunia, olive foliage and scabious seed pods.
Caroline and Rob tied the knot at Shustsoke Farm Barns on 1 August surrounded by family and friends. Caroline enjoyed the planning of her summer wedding and had a great eye for colour, the one thing she was certain of was she wanted to wear a flower crown for her wedding cermeony and hanging globes in the barn.
FLOWER CROWN – PINK, BLUE & GREEN HYDRANGEAS & ROSES
At our first meeting Caroline arrived with a gorgeous water colour board with inspiration for her day, tones of pinks, blues and greens. The flower crown we designed was very blousy and suited her curls on the day with a mix of pink, blue and green hydrangea with Sweet Avalanche and Ocean song roses. When the flowers were delivered in the morning the squeals of delight were wonderful to hear. The happiness captured in these photos at the start of the day continued throughout the day. What a beautiful relaxed and happy wedding day.
SHUSTOKE FARM BARNS – CEREMONY FLOWERS
The ceremony barn was filled with flowers, Rob had made a rustic wooden planter for us to fill with blooms from the day – hydrangeas, feathery astilbe, eucalyptus and roses with moss to edge. Together with the large hanging flower globes filled with a mix of hydrangeas and eucalyptus the wooden planter gave just the look Caroline and Rob had hoped for. I just love the rustic tree slice ring box.
BUTTON HOLES FOR THE BOYS
The boys had a mix of rustic styled button holes with hydrangea and eucalyptus finished with twine with a billy button for the youngest. How cute is his Ring Security shirt!
Caroline brought one of the dresses over to show me so we could finalise colours for the bouquets and we had great fun selecting such lovely bright summer flowers in colours of pink, green, lilac and blue. The long lace trailing ribbons for the bridesmaids added a good contrast to their floral dresses and finished off the look. The lace was also used to trail from Caroline’s flower crown. The bride herself carried a large bouquet of mixed hydrangeas and roses to offset her flower crown. Caroline bought cream jugs and attached personal tags for each of her maids.
FLOWER GARLAND AT SHUSTOKE FARM BARNS
As guests and finally the bridal party arrived at Shustoke Famr Barns they were greeted by a rustic country style flower garland hanging above the oak doors to the barn. Once inside everyone was greeted with a wonderfully hand crafted table plan and so many other personal touches.
TOP TABLE FLOWERS IN A RUSTIC CRATE – SHUSTOKE FARM BARNS
The top table was the centre of attention for the meal and speeches with the rustic crate handcrafted with love by Rob taking centre stage. The crate was over a metre in length and looked as if it was made for the barn.
PASTEL TONED FLOWERS FOR THE TABLES – WATER COLOUR THEME
Caroline had a water colour theme to her tables with handmade table numbers, beautifully hand dyed cloths in soft pastel tones on to which we added a mix of organic bottles and vases simply filled with just the right pastel toned blooms.
HANGING FLOWER GLOBES AT SHUSTOKE FARM BARNS
Caroline had seen photos of one of our previous barn weddings and just knew she wanted large flower globes to be part of her day. The hanging globes are a great treat for us to create and we just love how they can transform this large space. If you are having your ceremony at the barn, followed by the meal and then the evening the hanging globes can be enjoyed throughout the day and add that extra WOW factor to your day.
WEDDING CAKE ON A TREE SLICE WITH FLOWERS
The wedding cake just needed simple blooms to add a touch of colour and be set on a rustic tree slice. We love the bit of whimsy with the beetle and the ladybird.
It is over a year since we first designed wedding flowers for Shustoke Farm Barns and we just love returning time after time as it gives us the opportunity to style it differently for each and every wedding. Our style is always in keeping with the natural look and feel of this wonderful wedding venue.
We love creating rustic wedding flowers at Shustoke Farm Barns. The style of Shustoke perfectly fits with rustic styling her we used an abundance of seasonal flowers, tree slices and casual arrangements to bring the venue to life.
We initially discussed plans by phone and email with Yasmin and were thrilled when we finally met her with Paul to finalise details. At our consultation we always ask to see a photo of the wedding gown to gauge the style of wedding and the flowers that would be appropriate (don’t worry we always ask the groom to leave the room at this point). Yasmin’s gown was just beautiful with touches of gold and needed a romantic fluffy bouquet. We decided on a lush mix of white and blush pink peonies which are in full bloom in July, bombastic roses, wizard of oz dahlias and feathery astilbe.
SUMMER RUSTIC WEDDING CEREMONY FLOWERS AT SHUSTOKE FARM BARNS
The ceremony table at Shustoke Farm Barns is a stunning piece of wood and looks best with simple decoration. A mix of our glass bottles and jars created just the look with summer rustic ceremony flowers as well as the bridal bouquet on the table.
SUMMER RUSTIC BRIDESMAIDS BOUQUETS WITH PASTEL DRESSES
The six bridesmaids had smaller versions of the bridal bouquet complete with peonies in pinks and whites they looked just wonderful with their pastel dresses. If you chose different pastel tones for the dresses it is lovely to link your maids by choosing the same bouquet for all of them.
FEATURE TABLES AT SHUSTOKE FARM BARNS – FAMILY PHOTOS, GIFTS & CARDS
As your guests arrive at Shustoke Farm Barns there are two great feature tables to display family photos, and leave space for gifts and cards. Don’t forget to add some flowers to this area to set the mood for your wedding day. The LOVE mugs were a great find and looked simply stunning on the day with some blooms in them and are something now treasured by the bride and groom.
WOODEN CRATES WITH RUSTIC SUMMER FLOWERS
Wooden crates with rustic summer flowers create just the right ambience for this rustic setting. Filled here with large hydrangeas, chrysanthemum blooms, olive foliage, roses and astilbe. A great a great mix for a summer wedding.
CENTREPIECES AT SHUSTOKE FARM BARS – GLASS BOTTLES ON TREE SLICES
Yasmin loved her tree slices and glass bottles for the centrepieces. We used a mixture of different sized bottle and jars filled with flowers and herbs to create a rustic look. The tree slices add some height to the tables without blocking anyone’s view.
WEDDING CAKE FLOWERS
The naked cake was beautifully decorated with fresh summer berries and highlights of summer roses.
We love creating Cripps Barn wedding flowers especially hanging globes. It is always a pleasure to travel down to the Cotswolds and create wedding flowers for our couples tying the knot at Cripps Barn. Claire and Ben booked us more than a year before their wedding after they had seen us setting up at Cripps Barn. They were looking for a relaxed rustic wedding celebration with family and friends. Ben is a true romantic and I loved the pearls he had chosen for Claire. The boys were at Cripps the morning of the wedding adding some hand made touches while the girls finished getting ready. Don’t you just love the directional signs lovingly made by Claire’s Dad. All photography by Jen Marino Photography.
CRIPPS BARN WEDDING FLOWERS ~ BOUQUETS
Claire and her bridesmaids had wonderful dresses and needed simple just picked flowers to complete their look. We worked with a white and green palette with highlights of purple and blue adding touches of lavender and veronica in the bridal just picked bouquet. To keep the bouquets rustic in style they were finished with hessian.
CRIPPS BARN WEDDING FLOWERS ~ RUSTIC BUTTON HOLES WITH TWINE
Rustic button holes with twine suited this rustic style wedding and its setting at Cripps Barn. The button holes were all a little different and finished with twine. Name tags are great to help with handing out the button holes on the wedding day.
CRIPPS BARN WEDDING FLOWERS ~ CEREMONY BARN FLOWERS
At Cripps Barn you can choose to have your ceremony in the wonderful ceremony barn which is a simply stunning way to tie the knot. Jars of just picked flowers on the ceremony table and huge just picked hanging globes are all that is needed to complete the look. The beauty of the hanging globes can be enjoyed later in the day for the evening celebrations. The young flower girls pomanders also looked perfect hanging as pew ends from their chairs.
CRIPPS BARN WEDDING FLOWERS ~ TOP TABLE FLOWERS
The long top table at Cripps Barn looks warm and inviting with an assortment of jars and vases with just picked flowers from the day. Just Married hessian bunting was added to the front of the top table as well as a hessian runner for another rustic touch.
CRIPPS BARN WEDDING FLOWERS ~ PLACE SETTINGS
The guests place settings were finished with lavender for the girls and rosemary for the boys. It is always welcoming to add a floral place setting for your guests.
CRIPPS BARN WEDDING FLOWERS ~ WEDDING CAKE DECORATION
The lovely cake was finished with a mini Mr and Mrs bunting and we added rustic flowers hand tied with twine to finish the look. Wedding cake decoration should always tie through into your day so this was just perfect for a rustic wedding at Cripps Barn.
CRIPPS BARN WEDDING FLOWERS ~ HANGING FLOWER GLOBES
The hanging flower globes are a ‘must have’ at Cripps Barn as they are enjoyed by guests throughout the day and are the last thing seen at the end of the evening. Claire and Ben had the hanging flower globes high up on their list of priorities as they had seen ones we had created for previous weddings. For a rustic wedding we combined lots of fresh scented eucalyptus and dill, dreamy gypsophila and blousy hydrangeas.
One of the lovely comments from our happy couple after the wedding was that the globes smelled really amazing.
